Frequently asked questions and help
What is UnDrip?
UnDrip is a privacy-first subscription tracker for iPhone. You import a PDF bank or credit card statement, and UnDrip detects every recurring charge — subscriptions, gym memberships, streaming services, software, utilities — and surfaces the ones you may have forgotten about.
Which US banks are supported?
UnDrip ships with deterministic parsers for Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, American Express, Citibank, Navy Federal, and USAA. For any other US bank or credit union, a generic parser handles common statement layouts. If a layout fails to parse, please send us a redacted sample at support@capita.srl and we will add support in a future update.
Why no bank login like Rocket Money?
Bank-linking apps require you to share your online banking credentials with a third-party aggregator (Plaid, MX, Finicity), which then has continuous access to every transaction in your account. UnDrip never asks for those credentials. You stay in control: you choose which statement to import, and the file is parsed entirely on your iPhone.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Every imported PDF is parsed locally by an on-device language model. The resulting transactions are stored in an encrypted SQLCipher database inside the app's iOS sandbox. No statement, no transaction, and no detected merchant ever leaves your phone. We have no servers that receive your financial data.
How do I import a statement?
Download your monthly PDF statement from your bank's website or app, then open UnDrip → Import → choose the PDF. The app parses it in 2–5 seconds depending on the number of pages and your iPhone model. CSV exports from your bank are also supported as an alternative format.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
The Free version lets you import a single PDF statement and detects up to 3 recurring subscriptions. UnDrip Pro ($2.99/month or $24.99 lifetime) unlocks unlimited imports, multi-account view, the full insights dashboard, and PDF export of subscription summaries. The privacy of your data is the same in both tiers — nothing leaves your device either way.
Why does UnDrip take so much storage?
Because the language model that parses your statements is bundled inside the app — not loaded from a remote server. The model is roughly 304 MB. This is the price of true on-device processing: no cloud inference means the model has to live on your phone. For most users, the trade is worth it.
How accurate is the detection?
Subscription detection looks for recurring charges with stable amounts (within ±10%) and a regular cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly). Six or more matching transactions across the imports give very high confidence; fewer matches surface in the "Review" tab so you can confirm or dismiss them.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → UnDrip → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Your data on the device is never affected by cancellation; only future Pro features are locked.
I want a refund.
All purchases on the App Store are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted via reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to issue refunds directly, but Apple typically grants them generously within the first few days of a purchase.
