What is a P7M file?

A .p7m file is a cryptographic envelope containing a digitally signed document in CAdES format (Cryptographic Message Syntax Advanced Electronic Signatures). It is the standard used in Italy for qualified digital signatures.

Why does the certificate appear as expired?

This means the signer's certificate has passed its validity date. The document has not been tampered with, but the signature was applied with a certificate that is currently expired. This does not necessarily invalidate the document if it was signed during the certificate's validity period.

How do I export the original document?

Exporting the original document contained in the P7M envelope is available with DocKit Pro. You can purchase a single export (€1.99) or an annual subscription (€5.99/year) for unlimited exports.
